Your Home's Back Yard is Important Too!
Many articles discuss curb appeal but you need to make sure that the back of your property makes a great first impression too. This especially the case during the summer months, when buyers are thinking about gardening, cookouts and children playing outside, the back yard will make a big impression. Remember, buyers are quick to determine whether they like your house or not.
The lawn should be green and well watered; this is not the time to save water. Replace areas that are dead and apply fertilizer three times during the summer. Hire a lawn services if you can't keep up with your lawn. Trim shrubs to make exterior of your home show better. This will also make your yard look bigger and better. Plant some annuals to add color to brighten up your garden beds. Also, consider adding potted plants for emphases.
If your home has a pool or Jacuzzi make sure it stays clean, clear and free of algae. The deck and patio areas need to look neat and clean. Make sure the outside furniture is clean and attractively placed.
Fences should be in good repair; consider cleaning or painting to improve the look. All hinges and latches need to be in good working condition. Clean up after your pets so that no feces are present.
